Rearo in supply partnership with Insite Contracts working for the main contractor Galliford Try have recently completed a renovation project close to home. Local to our Glasgow production facility, Govan High School is the most recent client added to our extensive commercial customer list.

Govan High is a non-denominational, co-educational, comprehensive school whose history can be traced back as far as 1874, although the name Govan High dates from just 1910. It’s centenary year in 2010 was supported by their most famous former pupil Sir Alex Ferguson.

The school moved to its present site in 1969 and was opened by Mr Anthony Hepper - Chairman of Upper Clyde Shipbuilders at that time. The school’s current roll stands at 417 and also unique to the school is its co-located Language and Communication Resource (LCR) for children on the autistic spectrum.

Govan High School’s current refurbishment programme includes upgrading the PE halls, showers, changing rooms as well as various washroom facilities located around the building. The aim of the project was to give the previously dated interiors more robust and waterproof fittings with a quirky, modern and youthful appearance.

Ideally suited to a school environment and being totally impervious to water Rearo supplied Impact Cubicles for these projects. Designed to cope with high use areas, the solid core construction combines quality with value and in addition is also ‘vandal’ resistant.

This range of toilet cubicles is fabricated using 13mm, high impact, solid grade laminate with a Phenolic core. All panels have profiled edges. The highest quality, black powder coated ironmongery is then used with these panels.

Our Impact Cubicles are available for fabrication in any customised size and configuration. In this instance Govan High School opted for blues and greys in the shower areas and vibrant and uplifting colour scheme of lime zest and fuchsia in the washrooms.
