With just over two weeks to go until the Scottish Homebuilding & Renovating Show in Glasgow on 16-17 June, here are our top hints and tips to cut the queues and make the most of your trip:
1. Get there early - an opening time arrival means you’ll often beat the crowds, making for an altogether more peaceful shopping experience. A word to the wise - peak times at trade events can often replicate city centre traffic. So a quick stop for a bite to eat in between stall visits can be worth it in the long run.
2. Go with the right mindset - if you’ve already finalised your decisions and have a dream shopping list to hand, then remain closed and focused. Home events can make it all too easy to go off on a tangent, with those weeks of planning going to waste. On the other hand, if you don’t have a finalised decision yet, go with an open mind, collect your favourite decors and finishes from each kiosk, and create your ideal bathroom or kitchen. Even if you just go home with a bundle of brochures but no clear plan, your research will serve as valuable groundwork for your next renovation.
3. Book the free services in advance - over the course of the weekend there will be several free seminars available, all of which are hosted by resident experts. Our top picks are ‘Inspirational ideas for your kitchen and bathroom’ and ‘Self-build – the common mistakes and how to avoid them’. As well as seminars, you can also book for a free 15 minute consultation with an architect, builder or HBR expert to discuss your own renovation plans.
4. Collect samples - these will be on offer at every stand. Not only do they serve as a permanent reminder or visual, the stickers placed on the back of these chips often have the source company’s details on the back, meaning it will be easier to order later.
And the final hint to make your trip the best it can be? Drop by stand A103 where our Glasgow Sales staff will be delighted to talk through your ideas and offer the best kitchen and bathroom products available.
