Go big and bold with a bit of Bea

Celebrity endorsement. It’s a well established tool in the marketing industry, but more recently it’s been given a brand-new twist through clever collaboration - think Kate Moss collections for Topshop or Heidi Klum for Lidl. Now Ikea is the latest company to bring in a big name for some hands-on help, with fashion activist B. Akerlund.

Having worked with celebrities such as Beyonce and Lady Gaga, Bea has made her name as one of the most influential stylists and costume designers within the world of music, film and fashion. Highly theatrical and dramatic, Bea has stamped her signature ‘goth meets glamour’ look all over her first limited-edition Ikea collection. With a statement palette of red, black, white and gold, Bea’s collection takes on a complex twist of Pop Art, Victorian and gothic trends.

We’ve paired up a few pieces with our own products to give your kitchen some big, bold, Bea inspiration

As a starting point, and to keep with the palette theme, we’ve used our Senses ‘New Noir Sparkle’ worktops and upstands, with our ‘White Gloss’ splashback panels.

  • Nowadays kitchens are more than just for cooking – they’re social hang out areas, and high dining seats need a bit of cushion comfort. Our top pick is Bea’s lip shaped velveteen pillow.
  • Pair this with lip stained glassware but prevent a possible kitsch Valentine’s vibe by adding Bea’s quirky crown bowl and magician’s hat vase.
  • Finish off the look by dressing your window with a dramatic blind or curtain.
