Finding time to get creative

Your home is a reflection of your personality, with your décor giving you the chance to demonstrate your creativity and outwardly express yourself.

For many people, one of the biggest barriers to any form of creativity - including house projects - is time. Most of us claim to have very little of it to spare, yet somehow manage to fit in hours each day in front of the TV or on social media. Well, it’s time for a change!

You’ll be amazed at what you can do if you reallocate just a small portion of your down time to focus on being productive on the house front - every minute you spend creating is another step towards turning your ideas into reality and achieving your dream home.

Here are three simple ways of finding time for creativity:

  • Dedicate just 15 minutes a day to Pinterest - with so much inspiration at your fingertips, you’ll have the legwork done in no time. Create boards and collaborate with others to help you make a final decision. For more on how to use Pinterest click here.

  • Instead of going out, invite friends round and exchange ideas. Go online or use magazines and print outs to create a vision board for flooring, wall coverings, artwork and accessories. Work in pairs or small groups and compare results at the end - just as sociable as a night out, but far more productive!

  • If you travel to work by train or bus, use your daily commute to look for ideas or decide on your final selections.

So come on, manage your time just a little bit better and give your creative side the chance to shine!
