Rearo’s apprenticeship programme has been shortlisted for two prestigious Scottish Apprenticeship Awards. We’re delighted to have been nominated in the categories for SME Employer of the Year and Promoting Diversity.
We established our apprenticeship programme in 2014 and currently have seven apprentices across two different strands – Sales and Administration, and Manufacturing. For us it’s vital to invest in apprentices who bring newly learned techniques into the business and help address skills shortages. Similarly, with a high degree of technical knowledge required in our Sales teams, apprentices are helping to create the next generation of confident, knowledgeable and expert staff in that area.
Our diversity nomination is predominantly linked to one of our factory apprentices, Sam, who is profoundly deaf. We’re fully supporting Sam to achieve his qualifications and gain experience without being disadvantaged in any way.
We’ll find out if we’ve won at the Awards Ceremony on Thursday 15th November at Perth Concert Hall. Our Production Manager, Mark Gordon, and Sign Language Tutor, Paula Marshall will be attending.
