April fool’s day is often the time for businesses to let things get a bit creative and out of hand. Newspapers for one are often highlighted for their outlandish headlines and this year was no exception.
Headlines from UK newspapers included the likes of Prince William marrying his girlfriend Meghan Markle in a secret Las Vegas ceremony (Daily Mail) and also that George Osbourne, former chancellor, had started his own fashion label ‘Georgio’ (The Gaurdian).
So how did Rearo take on April Fools Day? With the launch of our new ‘RabbitFit’ product – a spin off from our successful RapidFit range.
‘RabbitFit’ was released with the following statement “Our aim is to provide a sturdy, easy to assemble (and clean) alternative to the traditional wooden hutch”.
Posted to the brand’s Facebook page, our furry friend ‘Cokey’ became Rearo’s new social media star posing with our new take on the rabbit hutch in carrot and lettuce – which we had claimed to be the latest additions to the colour palette.
One thing we didn’t account for though is that our customers wouldn’t believe the drop on price in our Clixeal water resistant Vinyl flooring range which was also announced on April Fools Day. We can safely say that it isn’t a joke and that our current prices have dropped to £29.95 + VAT.
