CD UK Limited Opens New Warehouse

Key Rearo supplier CD (Corian) Distribution) UK Limited held an open day at their new 22,000 sq. ft Wakefield House Distribution centre in Morley, Leeds on Friday 18th November.

The state of the art  office complex in West Yorkshire was officially opened by BBC Yorkshire TV presenter Harry Gration  .  The facility supports a new showroom, featuring the latest Corian® fabrication equipment, together with an integral new training centre, where the fabricators such as Rearo will attend to ensure that they are fully conversed with the latest Corian® fabrication techniques.

The headline event of the open day was a presentation by Jean-Yves Bach (Head of Building Products for DuPont™ EMEA region.)  Jean-Yves described some of the new innovations Corian® would be introducing to the European market in 2012 (- with hints some interesting new colour palettes for 2012  The presentation underlined that DuPont™ Corian® remain determined to hang on to their current, universally recognised, status as global market leader for solid surface products.

To enforce their market share, Jean-Yves presented statistics showing that Corian was clearly the market leader in Europe with an estimated 55% market share, by volume. Solid surfacing currently makes up some 9% of all the counter surfaces used across Europe.

CD UK have been a close partner to Rearo for over 15 years, being the sole supplier for the raw Corian® sheets that Rearo fabricate their many solid surfacing components with.  Gary Baker, Managing Director of CD UK commented " Rearo have been a close partner of CD UK's for many years and have championed Corian® fabrication, particularly in Scotland, for over a decade.  We are delighted to be able to announce this heavy investment in facilities and stocks to assist them to improve their overall offering to the Corian® consumer."
