Winner of Italian Grand Prix presents Silestone®
Fernando Alonso,
two-time World Champion of F-1, unveiled the new Silestone®
collection, "Sport Series by Fernando Alonso", at a global launch
event held in Milan on the 8th September. This innovative new
collection comprises of three colours; Rosso Monza, White Platinum
and Cemento Spa colors and is inspired and endorsed by Fernando
Alonso.
During the launch event, held at the modern NHow Hotel in Milan, a
discussion took place, where the F-1 driver together with
prestigious design and architecture professionals, including
Santiago Miranda and Michele Capuani, Dean of the IED Group,
discussed innovation, technology and design.
The debate focused on the latest design and decorating trends, as
well as the application of technological innovation for Formula 1
and consumer products.
From Seville, Santiago Miranda has carried out all his
professional work in Milan with associate British designer Perry
King. Miranda, (Spanish National Design Award, 1989), has been
known for his designs of appliances, lighting systems and office
furniture. Michele Capuani enjoys an extensive and renowned career
in the fields of architecture, urbanism and design of products. He
is the Dean of the Instituto Europeo di Design Group and Honorary
Member of the Scientific Board of ESAG (Ecole Superior des Artes
Graphique) in Paris, France.
The event was also attended by Eduardo Martínez-Cosentino,
Commercial Director of the Cosentino Group, the multinational
company that owns the Silestone® brand. Silestone® and Alonso
joined forces in 2008 and in the third year of collaboration, the
brand has maintained its support as personal sponsor of the F-1
driver.
