Rearo Contribute Towards 500 Miles Centre at Kamuzu, Malawi

Lord Provost Bob Winter will join former Scotswoman of the Year, Olivia Giles, to publicise the return to Malawi in September of a humanitarian aid team from Glasgow City Council, Access LLP & construction company City Building.

Arrangements have been made for a return to Malawi by the team from City Building (Glasgow) LLP who intend constructing a new centre which will be larger than the original & will permit an increase in the manufacture of prostheses & thereby the ability to treat more patients.  

The volunteers have only 10 days to construct the prosthetics centre from the timber kit & the materials contributed by Rearo Laminates Ltd & other local suppliers. Two giant containers, loaded with building materials & tools needed to construct the building have been in Malawi since June. When the job is complete, everything will stay in Malawi, including the tools, to help the local community.

Rearo are excited to see their products benefit the many patients who are treated in Kamuzu Central Hospital.

The Team depart on the 4th of September. Good luck to all involved!
