Jim Smart Retires
28/04/08

This week signals the end of an era at Rearo with the announcement that Jim Smart has decided to retire from the business at the end of this month.
Jim is the longest serving member of the Rearo group with twenty seven years continual service. In that time Jim has been a corner stone in helping establish the Rearo brand as it is today. It was Jim who first established Rearo on the UK mainland setting up a kitchen and bathroom studio in Chapel Street, Dunfermline. His introduction of the Uni Panel® product was the main reason Rearo Laminates was eventually set up and incorporated back in May 1991.
The Rearo name comes from a derivation of two place names Reawick in Shetland and Rosyth in Fife. Latterly in his career, Jim has in effect completed the circle by securing Rearo’s long term position in Fife, by establishing the exciting new showroom and trade counter in Rosyth.
The Mercer family and everyone at Rearo express our profound thanks to Jim for all the tireless work and effort he has offered over the years.
